Puppetry in Practice

Integrating STEM

Like 21st Century Learning strategies, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is at the forefront of education because the skills learned with this interdisciplinary approach have immediate, real-world applications. The ability to think critically and creatively in order to solve layered problems is a key to success in school and beyond. Several of PIP's programs integrate STEM learning with project based investigations of a variety of themes that are fun and engaging to students. Most notably, Bridging Brooklyn, a project centered around the history of the Brooklyn Bridge, has students explore math and engineering problems encountered while building the bridge.
